Foolishly varnished with something resembling brown English pond water. In person if look closely you can see where the black has been put on too thickly and has dribbled, possibly as a reflection of the artists “slight touch of Downs”.

I bottled painting the trailing pink petals with the shading they had in the original, in fear of screwing it up. The paint is peeling off the wall in parts these days, the frescoes of Herculaneum are in slightly better condition.

From the classic spectrum video game, Lords of Midnight. If you look closely at the uncompressed image you can see where I didn’t press the masking tape down hard enough, so the paint has seeped underneath, leading to rough, jagged edges. The colour clash has been faithfully rendered.
